Douglas Waltman II

Having been a freelance web designer for many years, Douglas Waltman II joined the Ikon MG team in 2007. He is now the creative director for the company, specializing in graphics, usability, and interface design. Doug brings over 10 years experience to the Learn About Web team as well as an energy for sharing his passion in web design.

While at Ikon MG, Doug has redesigned chamber websites that quadrupled in traffic within the first month. He has helped business owners in the Tri-Cities build their brands online through professional design, search engine optimization, and social media. Doug takes pride in helping business owners grow their companies using the web. You can see some of his web designs under Ikon MG’s portfolio page.

Doug earned his Bachelors of Art in Computer Graphics Design in 2005 from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, but his education does not stop there. Doug uses social media tools, including Twitter and blogs, to stay abreast of new techniques and web trends.

Originally it was curiosity that lead Doug to design web pages, but it is the ever changing nature of the web that has kept him so intrigued. There are so many new things to learn and implement in web design that it is difficult to learn it all. It’s a challenge Doug enjoys. His current side-project is a casual blog for designers and developers.
